4Drive Azerbaijan is a booking platform that connects drivers with established local vehicle providers across the country. We handle the search, reservation, and payment process, then issue a voucher with all the details needed to collect a vehicle from a partner company in your chosen city. The rental agreement itself is signed directly with the provider at pick-up, and their contact information appears in your voucher.
Our focus is on transparency. Every listing shows exactly which payment methods are accepted for the balance, what the excess amount is, and whether the provider requires a deposit hold. You select a vehicle based on real specifications - drivetrain type, ground clearance, transmission - not vague category labels. What you see during booking is what you get at the counter.
The process starts with a search on our site. Enter your pick-up city, dates, and any filters - 4WD, automatic transmission, ground clearance - and browse the available vehicles. Each listing states the rental company's requirements: accepted payment methods for the final balance, excess, and deposit hold policy.
Once you choose a vehicle, you pay a booking advance online by card. Cash payment is not accepted on the website. The advance secures your reservation and triggers the confirmation email with a voucher. That voucher contains the rental company's name, address, contact details, and pick-up instructions.
At the agreed time, you collect the vehicle from the provider's office, airport desk, or via delivery to your hotel, depending on the company. You sign the rental agreement on site, complete the vehicle inspection, and settle the balance using the payment method listed in your voucher - debit card, cash, or credit card, depending on the specific vehicle. The provider will note any existing damage in the contract, and you drive away.
Return follows the same principle: bring the vehicle back to the agreed location, complete a final inspection, and hand over the keys. Mileage, fuel level, and condition are checked against the initial contract.
We work with providers in Baku, Sumgait, Quba, Gebele, Ganja, Shaki, Stepanakert, Saray, and Qala. Baku accounts for the largest share of bookings, thanks to GYD airport arrivals and the capital's role as a touring base. Quba serves as a gateway to Khinaliq and the northern mountains. Ganja and Shaki handle traffic along the M2 corridor toward the Georgian border.
Each city has its own set of providers, and vehicle availability varies by location. A 4WD pickup common in Quba might not appear in Sumgait's fleet, while a saloon suited to highway driving dominates Baku listings. Pick-up and drop-off arrangements - counter service, terminal meet-and-greet, hotel delivery - depend on the individual company.
Some vehicles on our platform are offered without a deposit hold. This means the rental company does not block funds on your card at pick-up. The excess - the maximum amount you are liable for in case of damage - remains in place, but no actual hold is applied to your account.
This option suits travellers without a credit card or those who prefer not to have funds frozen for the rental period. It is a separate feature, unrelated to insurance or damage coverage. The excess does not disappear; it simply is not secured by a deposit hold. If you need higher card limits for vehicles that do require a deposit, contact your bank before departure.
