These terms govern all bookings made through 4Drive Azerbaijan. By completing a booking on our website, you agree to comply with the conditions set out below. Please read them carefully before proceeding with your reservation.
4Drive Azerbaijan operates as a booking platform connecting customers with local rental companies across Azerbaijan. We facilitate reservations and provide booking support, but the actual rental agreement is between you and the local rental company that supplies the vehicle. These terms apply to the booking process through our website, while the rental company's terms govern the use of the vehicle itself.
All vehicle specifications, rental conditions, and optional services displayed during booking are provided by the rental company. We strive to ensure accuracy, but the final terms are confirmed in your booking voucher and the rental agreement signed at pick-up.
When you complete a booking on our website, you receive a voucher containing the details of your reservation. This voucher includes the name and contact information of the local rental company, pick-up instructions, vehicle details, and any additional services you have requested. The voucher serves as confirmation of your booking but does not constitute a rental agreement.
The rental agreement is a separate contract between you and the local rental company. You will sign this agreement when you collect the vehicle at the designated location, whether that is at an airport counter, city office, or hotel delivery point. The rental company will conduct a vehicle inspection at pick-up, and any existing damage will be noted in the agreement to protect you from liability for pre-existing issues.
The rental agreement will specify all terms governing your use of the vehicle, including mileage limits if applicable, permitted drivers, geographic restrictions, insurance coverage, excess amounts, and return conditions. These terms may vary between rental companies and vehicle types. You must comply with all conditions in the rental agreement throughout the rental period.
When you book through our website, you pay a booking advance by debit or credit card online. This advance secures your reservation and is processed immediately. We do not accept cash payments online. The advance amount is stated clearly during the booking process and confirmed in your voucher.
The remaining balance is due when you collect the vehicle. The payment method accepted for the balance depends on the specific vehicle you have booked and is indicated during the booking process and in your voucher. Some vehicles allow payment by debit card or cash, while others require a credit card. The rental company determines these requirements, not the vehicle class.
If you do not have a credit card and the vehicle you wish to book requires one, consider increasing the limit on your debit card to meet the rental company's requirements. Confirm payment method requirements before completing your booking to avoid complications at pick-up.
The local rental company may block a deposit amount on your payment card when you collect the vehicle. This deposit serves as security against damage, traffic fines, toll charges, or other liabilities that may arise during the rental period. The deposit amount and the type of card required vary depending on the specific vehicle you have booked.
The deposit is a temporary hold on your card, not a charge. It is released after you return the vehicle, provided there are no outstanding claims. The release time depends on your card issuer and typically ranges from a few days to two weeks. The deposit requirement is independent of insurance coverage or excess amounts. Vehicles offered without a deposit requirement still have an excess amount that applies in the event of damage or theft.
The primary driver must present a valid driving licence at pick-up. An International Driving Permit is recommended alongside your foreign licence for use in Azerbaijan. The rental company will verify your documents and may refuse to release the vehicle if documentation is incomplete or does not meet their requirements.
If you wish to add a second driver, you must request this service during booking and pay the applicable fee. The additional driver must also present valid documentation at pick-up and will be listed in the rental agreement. Only drivers named in the rental agreement are permitted to operate the vehicle.
Age requirements and driving experience minimums vary by vehicle and rental company. These details are provided during the booking process. Ensure all drivers meet the stated requirements before completing your reservation.
You must use the vehicle in accordance with the rental agreement and all traffic laws in Azerbaijan. Speed limits are 60 km/h in urban areas, 90 km/h on open roads, and 110 km/h on highways. Right-hand traffic rules apply. Toll roads operate on the M1 and M2 highways with electronic payment systems. You can request toll payment devices during booking for an additional fee.
Cross-border travel to Georgia or Iran is permitted only with written permission from the rental company arranged in advance. You must request this permission during the booking process. Unauthorised cross-border travel violates the rental agreement and may result in insurance coverage being voided and penalties imposed.
Certain vehicles, particularly those with 4WD or AWD capability, are suited to unpaved mountain roads such as the route to Khinaliq village or the final approach to Lahic. Standard passenger cars should remain on paved roads. Check your vehicle's capabilities and the rental agreement for any restrictions on road types or specific routes.
If you need to modify your booking dates, pick-up location, or vehicle type, contact us at [email protected] as soon as possible. We will work with the rental company to accommodate changes subject to availability and their policies. Modifications may incur fees depending on how close to the pick-up date you request the change.
Cancellation policies vary by rental company and are stated in your booking confirmation. Some bookings allow free cancellation up to a certain number of days before pick-up, while others may have stricter terms. Review the cancellation policy before completing your booking. 4Drive Azerbaijan acts as booking service and is not liable for issues arising from the rental agreement, vehicle condition, accidents, traffic violations, or disputes with the rental company. Our responsibility is limited to facilitating your booking accurately and providing support with booking-related inquiries.
The rental company is responsible for the condition and roadworthiness of the vehicle, insurance coverage, and compliance with local regulations. Any claims related to vehicle defects, accidents, or service failures must be directed to the rental company whose contact details are provided in your voucher.
You are responsible for using the vehicle in accordance with the rental agreement and applicable laws. You bear liability for damage, theft, traffic fines, and any other issues that arise during the rental period, subject to the terms of the rental agreement and insurance coverage in place.
If you experience problems during your rental, contact the rental company directly using the contact details provided in your voucher. They are best placed to resolve operational issues, vehicle faults, or service concerns immediately.

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Azerbaijan. Any disputes arising from your booking through 4Drive Azerbaijan or these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Azerbaijan.
The rental agreement you sign with the local rental company is also governed by the laws of Azerbaijan. Familiarise yourself with local traffic regulations and rental practices to ensure a smooth experience.
