We added written permission for a day trip into Georgia - the rental company arranged it within 24 hours. Collected a Kia Sportage at Heydar Aliyev Airport and spent five days driving around Baku and out to Quba. The vehicle was reliable and fuel-efficient. Only minor complaint: navigating the narrow streets in the old quarter of Baku required extra caution, and I wish I had requested a smaller car for those sections. Otherwise, the entire process from booking to return was straightforward. Mountain road signage was mostly in Azerbaijani only, so offline maps helped.
Took a Nissan X-Trail from Baku to Ganja via the M2 toll highway, about 370 km. Electronic toll payment device was included as an add-on, worked perfectly at every checkpoint. The vehicle felt stable at 110 km/h, air conditioning essential in the summer heat. Staff explained the damage waiver and excess clearly at the desk, no surprises. Returned with the same fuel level as pickup, quick inspection, and we were done in ten minutes.
